designed by heikki orvola, these small colorful jewels of light are deceptively simple & their design reflects a thorough knowledge of glass. the thickness of the glass enriches the glow as it multiplies the flickers of the flame, while the wide range of colors allows you to create a colorful cocktail of candlelight for every occasion. the design is so minimalist that one might believe that it took endless stripping away of the unnecessary until it emerged. as orvola explains, however, the process was somewhat different:
’when i got the commission, i knew what they wanted from me – a scandinavian glass candleholder. i gave it some thought and then that ‘blunt piece of tubing’ began to take shape in my mind. when i sketched the shape, i thought, that’s it right there – the only right solution.’
