'richard III' designed by philipe starck for baleri italia in 1985.
one of starck's more intriguing designs from earlier in his career - 'richard III' appears to be a traditionally styled armchair from the front... until you view the profile - it's really manufactured in polyurethane.
the chair's name may represent the crossing of the older form into more modern materials, much like the reign of richard III is considered the beginning of the modern era in England. (then again it may represent a hollow throne founded on murder a la Shakespeare, whatever the case-).
available in silver or matte black finish, with cushion in black fabric, COM, or black or white leather.
