designed by massimo and leila vignelli for botanist. the inspiration for the lines collection was, according to the designer, "we decided to take the three basic ways of setting type as a reference, that are,: flash left, centered, and justified, so we played the usual interaction between design fields... we were not interested in flowery patterns so the lines were natural for us."
botanist is an eco-friendly home accessories and furniture company. made from recycled metal alloys, the botanist collection includes works from internationally acclaimed designers. 2% of sales support a partner foundation chosen by the designer. sales of the vignelli's product supports RIT, which is where their archives are held.
