the project is a move taken from the idea of an object with a double function. in this case different types of glassware (water tumblers, wine glasses, etc) can become real and exact kitchen measuring cups. this has actually always been the case with normal glassware, but with an approximation and unspecified quantity of the contents. the three types of glassware made in crystal have a capacity respectively of exactly 1, 2, and 3 deciliters. naturally the 3 types of glassware can be stacked inside of each other.
