designed by donato d’urbino - paolo lomazzi
if you look up “bookstand” on wikipedia you’ll find that the entry doesn’t exist. now is probably the time to write that entry. putting a book on a bookstand means according it an importance that it cannot have when it is in a bookcase, standing alongside other books. placing a book at the right height, higher than the table top, and at the right angle means holding the head in a natural
position and reading without tiring the neck by bending it downwards unnaturally. a book placed on this bookstand by d’urbino and lomazzi appears to have flames of steel darting all around it from the book support: the perfect atmosphere for cooking while consulting a recipe book. the bookstand closes with a lovely pantograph movement, allowing it to be stored in a limited space beside your cookbooks or on the kitchen shelf. even when closed, “fiamma” keeps its evocative bonfire appearance.
dimensions: 15.8” - h. 9.5”. foldable bookstand in 18/10 stainless steel and POM.
