the persis collection was designed by paul wunderlich for rosenthal’s classic line, new for 2009. the opulent gold patterns are reminiscent of the orient. the gold-plating is applied intricately by hand to the plate rims - resulting in a fine, filigree relief on the plate. the spouts & handles of the service pieces are also entirely hand painted. paul wunderlich is an internationally known graphic designer & object artist. his work is characterized by magic and mysticism and he often uses precious materials such as noble metals, ivory, & porcelain. wunderlich has been working for rosenthal since 1978. certain items are now available only through special import. if you are looking to purchase an item not listed online, please contact 1-888-89-UNICA for help with your order.
