the tank light collection was designed by alexander taylor. these lights boast a simple archetypal design with repetitious and rhythmic folds made from sheet aluminum. although this shape mimics the pleated fabric of traditional light shades, the tank lights are clearly an industrial, graphic, & contemporary product. available as a suspension light, wall sconce, floor or table lamp – this family of lights is suited for both domestic and contract environments.
alexander taylor is one of britain’s leading young designers whose career was launched with his award-winning coat hook ‘antlers’ in 2004. after studying furniture & product design at nottingham trent university, he started working with proctor:rihl. taylor set up on his own in 2002 and was named elle decoration’s young designer of the year in 2005. to top that off, his ‘fold’ light for established & sons became part of the permanent collections in both the MoMA in new york & the art institute in chicago in 2006.
