the concave watch, by swiss designer nicolas barth nussbaumer, challenges the traditional design of the modern watch by integrating the dial and the watch case into one form so that all visible elements of the watch are concave. barth nussbaumer explains “I wanted to create a watch where the case and the dial fused together giving the impression they are a single form. even the hands of the watch are crafted to match the concave contours of the form. the watch dials are inspired by a human eye and the changing gradients of color. this adds depth and sensuality to the concave form.”
the concave collection consists of four watches crafted in stainless steel. there are several colors including a sunray dial with black strap, a dark blue watch with distinctive blue lines on the dial accompanied by turquoise strap, a white watch with a changing scale of white to a warm grey with a white strap and the luxurious black watch with a ring of diamonds totaling 0.25 ct accompanied by a black strap. all strap are made of calfskin. movement: eta 956.032
