the wire basket is one of alessi’s oldest products that is still evolving and being manufactured today. it was designed by alessi’s in-house design team, and is an excellent example of the collective design which has outlived many fashion and market trends. the first prototypes in this series date back to the late 1940s, and their success has continued despite production costs and numerous imitations. this new mini size was developed upon request by a swiss airline and has been added to the alessi catalog.
