"light raised onto a pedestal," is how harri koskinen describes the lantern candle holders he designed for iittala. his manner of expression is at once simple and complex just like his creations. the large lantern from a few years ago that was designed to be placed on the floor has now been joined by more moderately sized models - one for candle light and one for flowers. the new sizes embody the same distinguishing clear design their large predecessor did. the new Lanterns are easier to place in small spaces - on tables, onto windowsills or why not by the fireplace? plentiful candle light serves as decoration and creates a certain atmosphere and its use has spread from the nordic countries to where people enjoy the good life.
