royal copenhagen is a danish company that has been producing porcelain since 1775. it was founded as a result of experiments on hard porcelain done by Frantz Heinrich Mueller and funded through a partnership with the royal family until 1868 when the company passed into private ownership. royal copenhagen today is a producer of craftsmanship and design with a contemporary international profile, selling products that are both functional and collectible.

although the source of the white plain dinnerware series is several generations old, the white plain dinnerware series was only introduced in 2003. its basic design is the same as that used in both the blue fluted plain, black and blue fluted mega services and white signature service. white plain dinnerware series can be used individually or to mixed with one or more of the fluted services.
