designed by carlo moretti, the bora glassware is part of a series that attempts to extend the techniques of tradional murano glassworking into everyday utilitarian ware. beautiful and functional, these glasses may incorporate threading, rods, murrhines, and other decoration. the pieces are assymetrical, not only due to being handmade, but also to represent their namesake, the bora wind.
the moretti glassworks were founded in 1958 by brothers Carlo and Giovanni Moretti. It was one of the few glassworks remaining on the island that is truly artisan in nature. all of the pieces shown in this section were designed and formed in Italy. they are also signed and dated.
six new pieces are yearly introduced into the series. unicahome will be stocking a limited amount of this product. there is a limited amount of production from the carlo moretti factory; backorders will be accepted. due to the handmade nature of this product there may be slight variance from piece to piece.
