in 1952, harry bertoia designed a series of chairs for knoll that were destined to become classics. the bertoia barstool was part of this series that makes creative use of welded steel rods. the bertoia stools come in both bar height and counter height versions.
construction:
full covers are stretched over wire seat basket and attached to seat basket with hooks. seat cushions have fabric edges and secure to chair with lock-snaps. frame is welded steel with rods of chrome polish or powder-coated paint, available in a variety of color finishes. chairs with powder coat finish and vinyl cushion material are appropriate for outdoor use with proper care and limited exposure to the elements. 1 ¼"-round articulated glides on barstools. note: knoll logo is stamped into the base of the chair.
