in 1952, harry bertoia designed a series of chairs for knoll that were destined to become classics. the bertoia side chair has received numerous awards for its iconographic design and creative use of welded steel rods.
innovative, comfortable and strikingly handsome, harry bertoia's side chair's delicate filigree appearance belies its strength and durability.
construction:
full covers are stretched over wire seat basket and attached to seat basket with hooks. seat cushions have fabric edges and secure to chair with lock-snaps. frame is welded steel with rods of chrome polish or powder-coated paint, available in a variety of color finishes. chairs with powder coat finish and vinyl seat cushion are appropriate for outdoor use with proper care and limited exposure to the elements. note: knoll logo is stamped into the base of the chair.
