boym partners' new project is a collection of wooden action figures celebrating the people of new york city, a fascinating mix of races, religions, and cultures. moishe, nafisa, mary, chen, and jose show remarkable individuality and character for simple wooden blocks. they even have their own pages on myspace!

- moishe (goes by moi) - a college-educated, champion sidewalk sweeper
- chen – teaching english to kids at the ymca to save money to go to business school.
- jose - born and raised on the lower east side
- mary - not many people come to new york looking for poverty, chastity and obedience… but mary did!

Constantin and Laurene Boym are the Winners of the 2009 National Design Award.
First launched at the White House in 2000 as a project of the White House Millennium Council, the National Design Awards were established to promote excellence and innovation in design. The 2009 National Design Awards nominations were solicited from a committee of more than 2,500 designers, educators, journalists, cultural figures and corporate leaders from every state in the nation.
