designed by ronan & erwan bouroullec for vitra, 2006, the alcove sofa was based on an effort to produce a sofa functioning as a "room within a room". with high, flexible side and back panels and an extremely soft seat and backrest. the sofa is wide enough to allow two people to stretch out and face each other- but also allows seating for three, if needed. chromed tubular steel, metal frame, belt upholstery with polyurethane and polyester wool.
