after the success of the large
resonance centerpiece , here is a smaller version that is more versatile in use. by varying the sheet folding angle, it has been transformed into the “harmonic” fruit bowl. both are made in 18/10 stainless steel, using a single mirror-polished sheet that is laser-cut and then folded.
the two designs reflect the young australian’s interest in geometry and mathematics. alice uses the geometry inherent in her designs and pictures to create three-dimensional sculptural objects.
“resonance” and “harmonic” actually began life as artistic drawings, and they were then transformed into three-dimensional objects by cutting, bending and curving steel sheet.
the same geometric base, with its poetic properties, can be used to produce three different results: a drawing, a painting, and an object.
the name resonance is derived from her conviction that when the final composition is harmonious, it is like a melodic sound resonating in the air.
