produced by yoshida of japan, these two rubberband powered model plane kits have a design history dating back to 1889. the crow, dating to 1889, was inspired by a crow (hence the name). the hishou is an A-shaped plane with two reverse propellers. the design of the hishou dates back to 1911, then a similar model crossed the sumida river in a contest. the artful flyer happy flyer and in the clouds model, designed by robert shadbolt, measures in at 12" x 10" and is made in america.
the kits use balsa wood, styrofoam, rubber bands and 5" reverse-pitch propellers. the crow and hishou models have a wingspan of 16" and an overall length of 18". instructions and glue are included.
