by the way, "fasciati" means "bound" in italian, a reference to the dark band of aubergine around the necks of these pieces.

salviati was founded in 1859 by antonio salviati, a lawyer who wanted to revitalize venetian glassmaking. salviati glass is handmade and often emphasizes contrasts: opaque against transparent glass, matt against shiny glass.
