the most remarkable feature of the model 40 pattern, designed by ljubisa misic, is its narrow, three-sided handles. misic figured that silverware should be held with three fingers, hence the triangular cross-sections of the handles. this unusual design makes for cutlery that’s very comfortable to hold.

pott was founded in 1904 by carl hugo pott in soningen, germany. his son, carl pott, joined the company in 1932 and established pott’s reputation as a manufacturer of fine cutlery. all pott flatware is handmade.
