clean knives after each use, hand washing them in warm water using a liquid dish soap. knives should never be left to air dry. dishwashing is not recommended. wood and horn handled knives require periodical maintenance using spare amounts of natural oils, such as olive oil applied to the handle with a soft cloth.
the pontormo knife is based on knives found in jacopo pontormo’s 1525 painting “cena in emmaus,” which is currently on display at the galleria deglia uffizi in florence. comes with wood block. berti is offering the pontormo in a natural ox horn or buffalo horn handle. total length is 11.1” with a forged blade length of 7.1”
