the oblong seating system designed by jasper morrison for cappellini in 2004.
with its array of zippers that link individual components, it seems jasper morrison has outdone himself with the remarkable oblong seating system. oblong consists of a series of different free standing and modular seating elements which are padded with styrofoam pearls and have no additional supporting structure. the removable external covers are available in a choice of colorful cappellini rover fabric or leather and show the different colored stitchings and zippers. fabric, leather, stitchings and zippers all available in various combinations.
cleaning is a simple process as the external cover is easily removable and replaceable. spare covers are available in case of accidental damage to the originals or can be ordered in a choice of different colors and fabrics for a little variety or occasional change in decor.
