love letter light sculptures designed by todd macallen and stephanie forsythe for molo.
a very unique art piece that provides soft ambient lighting… and the ability to add a little of yourself to it.
the ‘love letter’ is a piece of electroluminescent film folded inside a translucent envelope. open the envelope and then write a small message on the film itself using a dry erase marker or place a paper-thin object ( such as a leaf ) upon the film – both with warmly glow like candlelight, slowly getting brighter as surrounding light goes dim.
another crazy little feature is the power source – a low voltage DC 12v – which the good people at molo have decided not to hide from us as many designers might. no, instead they have housed the power source within a small cityscape ( there is an individual surprise within this particular feature that makes each light unique ).
currently, there are two versions available :
the original ‘love letter light sculpture’ which has a base formed of two of their very own ‘felt rocks’ ( high density blocks of wool felt, each one 100% unique ). and the ‘love letter to castiglioni brothers’ sculpture, which has a base that is from none other than a thrown away core to the white marble base of an arco lamp.
both feature adjustable necks.
dimensions : original – 36”h : castiglioni brothers – 18”h
