one of his more quirky, playful designs - orfeo’s ‘nubi’ ring is something that you really can’t quite describe.

another of his handmade glass rings, the ‘nubi’ features six rounded - let’s call them ‘nubs’ - spanned out in a star – like formation. the result is another one of a kind piece of glass jewelry.

while eleven different color styles are available, due to their handmade nature, each ’nubi’ ring is unique ( just as each one of orfeo’s other pieces ). what this means, is that the exact size, tone, mixture, and opacity of the ring will vary from piece to piece.

orfeo quagliata is the son of renowned glass artist narcissus quagliata and grew up on an artist commune in san francisco. after spending time in austria with his grandmother herta jalkotzy, an award winning jewelry designer in the wiener werkstaette, orfeo apprenticed for 2 years in spain with josef fernandez-castrillo before moving to milan to work with the famed grimaldi watch family. today, quagliata lives and works in mexico city where he produces these unique glass designs.
