a simple shape infused with deep, bright colors – the wring ring is another amazing glass design from orfeo quagliata.

while most wring rings come in the popular linear color design ( with solid or alternating colors striped around the curves of the ring ), the most interesting innovation here is the orange and red ‘boiled’ color style.

in order to create the ‘boiled’ wring ring, he must infuse the glass with the colors at such a high temperature that it begins to swirl and mix in unpredictable ways – the only result that remains consistent is the fact that each and every one is completely unique.

but, it should be noted that this true of all of the wring rings, as well as any of orfeo’s designs. this is due to their handmade nature - so the exact size, tone, mixture, and opacity of the ring will vary from piece to piece ( see pictures for example ).

orfeo quagliata is the son of renowned glass artist narcissus quagliata and grew up on an artist commune in san francisco. today, quagliata lives and works in mexico city where he produces these exceptional glass designs.
