‘bunnylamp.mgx’ designed by marjin vink for materialise in 2006.
have you ever wondered what it would look like if you took a two-dimensional rendering of a rabbit, attached it to a halogen pendant lamp, suspended it in mid-air and then draped a red cloth over it?
yeah, neither have we, but it’s still a really cool pendant lamp with a cute sense of style and humor that won’t appear immediately kitschy to anyone who sees it (they would have to see the top to know it’s a bunny).
the red rabbit-shaped diffuser shade is comprised of epoxy, and as with all materialize products, created using “rapid prototyping technology,” a 3D material printing process that allows for freedom of design far beyond the capacity of traditional manufacturing processes, literally building the object one tiny little piece at a time.
