bonze stool by philippe starck for xo
a fun and unique stool design, no less is expected from starck whose other designs include the tooth stool. it is constructed from ceramic then painted gold. this piece has recently been featured in the new york times.

the face of Buddha, a portrait of Lorenzo de' Medici, a watcher in the night, awoken double of the Sleeping Muse by Brancusi, a stool, a coffee table. bonze is all of these and possibly more at the same time. bonze surpasses the functional to become a baroque decoration object with a hieratic presence. a must-have to be discovered in the clubs of Shanghai or in the Moscow underground!
