the bestlite series of lamps were designed by robert dudley best in 1930.
this series of sturdy yet elegant lamps started out with the bl1 table lamp as the archetype. since then six other models have been added, but all of them have been designed with the same simple array of elements: the high gloss chrome pole, the pivoting arm,
and a variety of colored metal shades. very few changes have been made in the range of models and colors, but details such as the wire and the switch has undergone necessary changes.
the lamp is a design classic, and is exhibited at the design museum in london. all models use 1 x 40W E12 globe shaped bulb. lamp components are UL listed.
only hardwired versions of the bl5, bl6, bl7 and bl10 wall lamps are available.
