royal copenhagen is a danish company that has been producing porcelain since 1775. it was founded as a result of experiments on hard porcelain done by Frantz Heinrich Mueller and funded through a partnership with the royal family until 1868 when the company passed into private ownership. royal copenhagen today is a producer of craftsmanship and design with a contemporary international profile, selling products that are both functional and collectible.

designed by architect grethe meyer in 1971. it is minimal in style and ornamentation. the emphasis of the design is placed on function and simple emphasis on form. reasonably priced, the pattern is dishwasher and microwave safe.
