julian is designed by javier mariscal, a spanish designer. julian is representative of much of mariscal's whimsical designs. more importantly, however, is that julian utilizes a child's imagination and intelligence - it is inherent to the child that the object is a plaything AND a chair, and the interaction of the child with julian is extraordinary. if only those adults would be able to see so clearly...
