emma silvestris, a jewelry designer by trade, in cooperation with laura polinoro uses the weightlessness of marine life as an inspiration for the mediterraneo series. the mediterraneo fruit bowl and its extraordinary success in 2006 prompted alessi to explore the potential for expanding this icon to new types of products.
