chilewich calls it "spun vynyl" because it looks like a web... but it really should be called dripped vinyl because of the way this amazing material is made. liquid vinyl is poured through tiny holes onto a moving belt and then heat set-- many people say that it has the feel of a jackson pollock painting.
spun vynyl is available in several colors as both placemats and runners. like all the other innovative textiles from chilewich, it's as functional as it is attractive.
