halley™ is a new collection of LED lighting designed by richard sapper for lucesco lighting. sapper, one of the world's design luminaries, is most famous for the tizio lamp. his work embodies an extraordinary talent for transforming creative research and engineering into functional, elegant products. halley™ is further evidence of sapper's innate ability to integrate ideas of design, engineering and technology to create a new line of task lighting with unparalleled movement, and maneuverability. the design incorporates counterbalances rather than springs or tension knobs to produce—throughout its range of motion—perfect balance. thanks to the use of LEDs, the light spread is smooth and continuous. high quality LEDs and a properly designed thin and beautiful head ensure the long life of the LEDs by efficiently removing the heat they generate. there is even a tiny (extremely quiet) fan in the head, to gently blow air across thin aluminum fins. the result of the lucesco lighting/sapper collaboration is nothing less than a revolutionary change in the field of illumination and lighting design.
