a wonderful addition to the alessi fall 2004 collection from jasper morrison. following a minimalist approach does not necessarily mean turning a design into an abstract form that loses its identification with the item and is not rooted in the public imagination. the design of the candlestick family demonstrates this well: its form evokes the corolla of a flower at the base and at the neck of the candlestick. at the neck an open corolla collects the molten wax while at the base an overturned corolla can hold matches. functional and beautiful. made of 18/10 stainless steel and available in three sizes:
