the womb chair & ottoman designed by eero saarinen, 1948. intended to facilitate a relaxed seating posture, the womb chair derives its name from the sense of security felt while relaxing in it. one of saarinen's most recognizable designs, the womb is made of foam over a molded, reinforced fiberglass shell. the base comes in your choice of polished chrome plated or matte black powder coated steel rods. separate seat cushions are included. the ottoman, available separately, has a foam cushion over molded plywood.
