designed as an exercise in clarifying form, eero saarinen's tulip chair sets new standards for modern design. known for his purist approach to architecture and design, finnish-born eero saarinen developed one of his greatest designs, the tulip chair, in 1956. now part of the permanent design collection of MOMA, this chair is single-legged and constructed of fiberglass-reinforced resin. the chair is made with or without arms in fixed or swivel versions. the shell is available in black or white with full inner upholstery or upholstered seat cushion. a platinum version is now available, with or without a seat pad.

50th anniversary edition:
