an architect who worked with sottsass associati in the late eighties, johanna grawunder began her collaboration with salviati in 1994, designing blown glass decorative objects and tabletop objects in crystal. for salviati she has designed abyss, babele and bassorilievi among others.

salviati was founded in 1859 by antonio salviati, a lawyer who wanted to revitalize venetian glassmaking. salviati glass is handmade and often emphasizes contrasts: opaque against transparent glass, matt against shiny glass.

this is one of our favorite patterns, and encompasses everything from stemware to ice buckets.
